Schalke midfielder Tranquilo Barnetta, whose contract expires in the summer, says that a move to Liverpool would “appeal immediately”.
The 30-year-old Swiss international can be deployed in the centre of midfield or on the wing.
Swiss midfielder Tranquilo Barnetta has stated that he’d like to make a move to the Premier League this summer, specifically mentioning Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
Barnetta’s contract with Schalke 04 will be reaching its conclusion soon after the German club opted against offering him an extension.
Therefore, the soon-to-be-free-agent has sounded out moves to England and Italy as a possibility.
The former Bayer Leverkusen star told Watson.ch: “The Premier League is, of course, very interesting. Liverpool and Tottenham are traditional clubs. If the conditions are right there, it would appeal immediately.
“If I had offers from these three clubs (Liverpool, Tottenham and Fiorentina), it would be nice to decide.”
The 30-year-old, who can play as a central midfielder or as a winger, has over 70 caps for Switzerland.
