The Bib Theorists

Scott Taylor gives a very brief overview of some of Liverpool’s players who are currently playing out on loan.

In a fairly busy week in terms of fixtures, Ngoo got a rare start for Walsall and Sokolik lost his clean sheet record at Southend.

Conor Coady

21-year-old Conor Coady again played the full 90 minutes for his loan side Sheffield United as they picked up an impressive draw against Leyton Orient at Bramall Lane. Coady did have a chance to score a winner late on, but his shot was no problem for the Orient goalkeeper Jamie Jones. Coady was then rested when the Blades played 3rd placed Rotherham. The youngster came on as an 87th minute substitute in the 1-0 victory. 11th placed Sheffield United are next back in league action when they host Stevenage on Good Friday. They also face Hull City this weekend in their FA Cup Semi-Final at Wembley. Hopefully Coady gets a start.

Michael Ngoo

On loan forward Michael Ngoo enjoyed a rare start for loan side Walsall as their 5 match unbeaten run was ended by Port Vale on Saturday. Ngoo did have two chances to score before he was replaced in the 68th minute by Amadou Bakayoko. Walsall are next in action against 15th placed Bristol City on Saturday and Ngoo will be hoping that he did enough to start again.

Jakub Sokolik

Czech Republic defender Jakub Sokolik again played another 90 minutes for Southend as they picked another win, this time away at Cheltenham. Unfortunately, Sokolik and his Southend team-mates couldn’t keep a clean sheet and it’s the first time in 4 games that they’ve conceded. Southend next play 17th placed Wimbledon in League Two, and Sokolik will be hoping to play another 90 minutes for Phil Brown’s side.

Jack Robinson

Blackpool left-back Jack Robinson again featured for his loan side as they lost 2-1 to Yeovil. The 20 year old did set up team-mate Neal Bishop but he couldn’t convert his chance as they slipped to yet another defeat. They were next in action on Tuesday when they hosted Andre Wisdom’s Derby. Blackpool lost the game 3-1, but Robinson did play the full 90 minutes and had a shot on goal saved. Blackpool next travel to Leeds and they should have the belief they can pick up points, as their opponents have lost 7 games in a row.

Andre Wisdom

England Under-21 captain Andre Wisdom again played a full game for Derby as Steve McClaren’s return to Middlesbrough didn’t end well as his Derby side lost 1-0. Wisdom did have a curling effort that was always going wide as Derby suffered a setback in their bid for promotion. Wisdom was back in action on Tuesday night when they beat Blackpool 3-1. Wisdom did have a shot saved in the victory. Derby next host 17th placed Middlesbrough at the iPro where Wisdom and his Derby side will be looking for a better performance this time around.

Ryan McLaughlin

Ryan McLaughlin was inches away from scoring his first Barnsley goal as he hit the bar in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Brighton. The Northern Irishman played 65 minutes before being replaced by Nick Proschwitz. McLaughlin was back in action for his loan side on Tuesday night, where he played the full 90 minutes in the 1-0 defeat at home to Burnley. His loan side next travel to Bolton in a must win game for the relegation threatened side.

Krisztian Adorjan

Krisztian Adorjan played 84 minutes for his loan side Groningen as they beat Zwolle 1-0 on Friday night and overall performed well as he had one shot blocked and delivered 3 corners. Groningen rise to 8th with the victory and they next play NAC Breda at home on Friday 11th April where the Hungarian midfielder will be hoping to play another significant part in the game.

Jordon Ibe

Jordon Ibe played 45 minutes for the Birmingham in their 3-1 win over Doncaster on Saturday. 18 year old Ibe was back in action on Tuesday night when he came on as a 66th minute substitute in the 3-1 defeat to Middlesbrough. In the 24 minutes that Ibe was on the pitch, he caused havoc and created 3 chances, but unfortunately he couldn’t convert any of them. Ibe will be hoping to build on this impressive cameo when Birmingham travel to Nottingham Forest on April 19th.

Under 21 playmaker Suso again played a full 90 minutes for his loan side Almeria as they slipped up against relegation rivals Osasuna. The Spaniard did have 4 efforts on goal but was unfortunately booked in only the 2nd minute of the match. It doesn’t get any easier for the 19th placed side because they next travel to Real Madrid on Saturday night and Suso will be looking to play another 90 minutes against Ancelloti’s side.
