ADVENT CALENDAR DAY 25: MERRY CHRISTMAS

ADVENT CALENDAR DAY 25: MERRY CHRISTMAS

So you’ve got through it and so have we. The advent calendar has been a success and to a certain extent it has summed up the year supporting Liverpool Football Club.

A group of talented people coming together to provide quality when required. 2013 has been a good year to be a Red.

So you’ve got through it and so have we. The advent calendar has been a success and to a certain extent it has summed up the year supporting Liverpool Football Club. A group of talented people (and me) coming together to provide quality when required. 2013 has been a good year to be a Red.

Alongside that it’s been a good year to be a part of a fan site too. We’ve been live since February of this year and although it may seem like a lifetime, it’s been a joy. We’ve had access we wouldn’t have dreamed of, talked to people we have idolised and sent Ste to get pissed in many a free Liverpool bar. Oh and didn’t he use the nature of those bars well.

We started a podcast. That went well. Some fantastic guests and some great chat that culminated in a listenership that we appreciate greatly; although we are still shocked people actually care what we have to say. Although, I’m not sure you really do.

However, there’s a few thank you’s I’d like to do.

Firstly I’d like to take the opportunity to thank Mr. Dan Wilcox who has been fantastic this year in getting everything together not just on TBT, but on everything going on around it.

Ste Hoare (the bald one) has also been brilliant this year since his promotion to Head Admin on this site. He’s made the podcast hugely enjoyable and the day to day running of the site efficient and free-flowing. In honesty, he’s been irreplaceable.

Morten Rugaard, who built this new site this year, also deserves a huge amount of plaudits. I feel proud to say I’m a part of something that looks so professional and slick. And that’s helped in no uncertain terms by the fabulous Dian Qamajaya who has done a lot of the design work for this site, making everything look as good as it possibly could do. Well done and thank you to both of you.

Liverpool Football Club are another group that I’d like to thank. Not just because of the performances on the pitch but the attitude towards fans off it. Some of the people behind the club are some of the best people in the industry, not just professionally but honourably. Special mentions to Steve Astall, Jimmy Rice, James Carroll and Paul Rogers who have been fantastic throughout the TBT ‘journey’.

Then there’s you lot. You’ve been great; listening to us drone on about nothingness, reading the content we provide and interacting with us on Twitter. It’s been a pleasure.

But rest easy in your rocking chair this Christmas, as this isn’t the end of TBT – like Liverpool at the moment, this is a long term project and we aim to get bigger and better in 2014 with more cool things coming into both the website and the podcast.

What we’ve done to say thank you (kind of) is record a Christmas Special of just Ste, Dan and I rambling on about everything that’s happened this year. We do a terrible TBT Name Game, give out the TBT Awards and release some unheard outtakes from the podcast.

Give it a listen below either whilst you’re waiting for presents, dinner or bed. Play it on your new, shiny gizmos and kick back and listen to us talk absolute shite.
