Loan Watch: Week 2

In a weekly feature for TBT, Scott Taylor reviews Liverpool’s loaned out players and how they’re doing at their temporary clubs.

As is possible, some players don’t make the squad etc, so haven’t been mentioned.

In a new weekly series exclusive to TBT called ‘Loan Watch’, I’ll be briefly reviewing the performances of all our Academy players for that same week.

I mentioned before in my last piece that Suso was expected to start in Almeria’s next game vs Osasuna, however the Spain Under 21 international had actually picked up 5 yellow cards throughout the season and therefore missed the game. Fortunately, Almeria did not miss their most influential player, as they won their 3rd game on the bounce and rose to 17th in La Liga. Suso is expected to return for Almeria’s next game, where they host giants Real Madrid on Saturday 23rd November – after the international break – and try and pick up their 4th consecutive win against all the odds.

Andre Wisdom

England Under 21 captain Andre Wisdom played the full 90 minutes and helped his new side Derby keep a clean sheet as they cruised to a 3-0 win over Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday, a game where reported Liverpool target Will Hughes scored. Wisdom did not make any significant contribution but will be hoping for another solid performance in Derby’s next game after the international break when they travel to Bournemouth on Saturday 23rd November.

Conor Coady

Midfielder Conor Coady started and played the full 90 minutes in Sheffield United’s 3-2 FA Cup 1st round triumph over Colchester. Coady did have a chance to score, but his shot from just outside the box was saved by the Colchester ‘keeper Sam Walker. Coady will be looking to build on this success in Sheffield United’s next game against Gillingham on Saturday 16th November.

Krisztian Adorjan

Under 21 forward Krisztian Adorjan was an unused substitute in Groningen’s 3-0 win over Heracles Almero to rise to 4th in Eredivisie and only 2 points off league leaders Vitesse. The Hungarian Under 21 international will be hoping for more success in Groningen’s next game when they host 7th placed PEC Zwolle on Sunday 24th November.
